About me
Here is a summary of my background, experience and professional competence/qualifications.
Hello!
I’m Charlie. Qualified counsellor and founder of Ginkgo Wellbeing. I am also a doctor in Psychiatry.
Since I was little, I have been drawn to understanding how other people think, how they interpret their experiences and how this translates into their interaction with the world around them. In other words, I have always been intrigued by people! Add into the mix a strong drive to help others, and it may be unsurprising then to learn that I originally trained as a doctor, and ultimately settled on Psychiatry.
I developed an interest in talking therapy because the most enjoyable and fulfilling moments in my working day were when I spent time with a person simply giving them the space to talk, or just be. I have also had life-changing therapy experiences myself so I know firsthand how helpful it can be. All of this eventually evolved into me pursuing counselling training, and here I am!

Alongside work, I am an avid nature-lover and enjoy exploring the outdoors with my two cocker spaniels. I am also a food enthusiast and an amateur (very amateur!) yogi.
